Dissolve Assembly

Published on:

Sir — Everybody is talking about either O Panneerselvam or VK Sasikala. Nobody seems to be concerned about what is in store for the State of Tamil Nadu and its people for the next four years.

In case Sasikala wins the chief ministerial seat and is also given a clean chit in the defamation case that is pending with the Supreme Court, only god can save the State.

On the other hand, in case Sasikala gets convicted, there is no guarantee that Panneerselvam can head the Government smoothly with the support and cooperation of his erstwhile ministerial colleagues and MlAs. A split in the party seems inevitable.

Above all, the administrative machinery under a divided ruling party will be crippled at a time the State is facing a number of problems. The only no-nonsense leader, who has the capacity to tackle the current situation is DMK working president MK Stalin. Way should be paved for him to take over the State administration through dissolution of the Assembly and imposition of President Rule.
