Disruptive policies

Sir — This refers to the report, “‘Opp candidate for Prez polls will unite parties against BJP’” (May 1). Opposition parties, presumably gathering under the umbrella of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, appear to be bent more on an anti-Modi candidate, rather than the ‘best’ choice for the post.

They are coming together to ‘defeat’ the NDA’s nominee, and not to ensure that their own nominee wins. It is precisely such disruptive tactics and a negative mindset that has helped  firmly entrench Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his preeminent position today. But one may hardly expect anything else, with Congress leading the flock.
