With Mr Nitish Kumar taking over as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the fourth time, I wish the State a bright future. But I don’t know whether to be happy or upset over Mr Nitish Kumar becoming the Chief Minister. He resigned in May 2014, taking moral responsibility for the landslide defeat of his party in the general election. If he was so conscious of morals, why had he not initiated a motion to dissolve the Assembly and go to the electorate for a fresh mandateIJ He did not do so because he wanted to use Mr Jitan Ram Manjhi as his puppet. Doesn’t his conscience revolt over his alliance with lalu Prasad, against whose misrule the people gave a mandate to himIJ
He should realise that, once a person holds a constitutional position, he is supposed to rise above party politics and keep personal ego aside in the larger interests of the electorate. One hopes he will turn a new leaf now.
