Sir — This refers to the report, “Obama hits pause button on Syria” (September 12) by S Rajagopalan. At last, diplomacy has averted the impending attack on Syria. To his credit, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has done well to heed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s advice to surrender his country’s chemical weapons arsenal.
