Sir — Congress members loyal to the Nehru-Gandhi family cannot see or think beyond the dynasty. Former Union Minister P Chidambaram is right in saying that some day a non-Nehru-Gandhi family member can be the Congress president. When Congress leader Shashi Tharoor rightly praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachch Bharat Abhiyan, he was shunted out as the party’s spokesperson. The good cannot be ignored. But the Congress is blind to this fact.
The Nehru-Gandhi family members continue to behave like royalty, though the people have rejected dynasty politics in the recent elections. Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi is a liability for the Congress. Under the present leadership, the party’s chances of revival are almost zero.
