Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Bitter pill for the better” (September 3). Indeed, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been entrusted with the most difficult task of bringing economic reforms in the country. It is to be seen, how economic reforms that are essential for attaining higher stability, accelerate development and employment will be achieved in five to 10 years as China could do.
It is next to improbable to bring consensus among unions on such vital issues like privatisation disinvestment, foreign investment and last but not the least labour reforms.
