Sir — With the BJP getting a clear majority on its own, the prospect of coalition partners arm-twisting the Government has thankfully been extinguished. In fact, the BJP can form the Government on its own, but since it went to the election with other parties, the regime will be a BJP-led NDA one. But now that is not going to shackle Mr Narendra Modi.
The defeat of the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty brand of politics that used the Prime Minister as its puppet, has exposed the designs of the family. One only hopes the Prime Minister had shown spine and upheld the dignity of his post.
The victory also reflects the voters’ maturity and their strong desire for a positive change. We, the people of India, expect from a Modi-led Government, good governance, peace and social harmony, fair development of all States, healthy relations between the Centre and the States, and the empowerment of the people in the true sense.
