To silence the attacks by terrorist organisation Hamas on Israeli soil, Israel is reported to have launched a ground operation inside northern Gaza, taking the death toll to 170 in six days. The threat of widening assault by the Israeli military has made the Palestinians flee their homes. Those Palestinians who are separatists are virtually on the run. The Israeli Defence Forces are determined to attack terrorists and terror infrastructure.
India needs to take a cue from Israel in dealing with terrorists. It should take steps to block the inflow of funds to terror outfits. A relentless war should be declared against all those elements that want to wage a war against the nation — whether these elements are in the country or outside.
Casualties should be more on the side of terrorist outfits. Militants should never be allowed to gain the upper hand, and no price is too heavy to achieve this. Israel is doing just that.
