Sir — This refers to the article, “Not even Telangana can save Congress” (August 3) by Ashok Malik.
The very fact that Telangana was a result of the Congress’s vote-bank politics, the UPA’s decision has several loopholes which will be damaging to both Andhra Pradesh and the new State. After dragging the issue for a decade, the UPA has now hurriedly pushed through a Telangana State. Observing the abysmal track record of the ruling combine, we can predict this will give rise to several problems and issues which the new regime that replaces the UPA has to face.
For the UPA, the purpose is to return to power by hook or by crook to continue with its corruption. The idea that the BJP-led alliance may take over the reins in New Delhi, is terrifying for the Congress.
