This refers to the editorial, “Indian cricket's new eraIJ” (October 20). By deciding to do away with his discretionary powers over team selection, president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India Shashank Manohar has walked the talk. He has started his second innings from where he ended his first innings. Tackling corruption in various State cricket association is indeed one of the most important issues. Not only appointing independent auditors for investigation, but time-bound reports and closure should be demanded from them.

Decisions on Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals are welcome. It will not be an exaggeration to say that Indian cricket is ushering in a new era of reforms to clean its image. last but not the least, protests by the Shiv Sena in the BCCI chief’s office, which has led to the Indian Cricket Council withdrawing Pakistani Umpire Aleem Dar from officiating in the next two ODIs of ongoing South Africa India series, is unfortunate.
