Sir — Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit’s remark that the Army chief is a “goon on the street”, is outrageous and prejudicial to national interest.
It wounds national sentiments and is a shattering blow to the morale of the Indian Army which is discharging difficult responsibilities like facing terrorist attacks emanating from Pakistan, and other foreign as well as indigenous threats.
The Congress president should call for a satisfactory explanation from Dikshit regarding such an unfortunate comment against Army chief General Bipin Rawat and, if necessary, take strong action against such rash commentators.
This mindless statement makes him a low profile politician indulged in India. He must, therefore, be contemptuously condemned by all politicians, irrespective of their ideology.
