Sir — The Union Government has done nothing wrong in stripping diplomat Devyani Khobragade of her duties as Director in the Partnership Development Division, as she spoke to the media without seeking permission. Every Government servant is bound to follow the rules stipulated therein, and Ms Khobragade is no exception. The Government has taken only administrative action, not disciplinary action.
Given the situation, the Congress has no business to hit out at the Centre on this issue. Former diplomat Rajiv Dogra has rightly backed the Government’s action, saying that it is nobody’s business to question the administrative step. Even if the Congress had been in power, it would have done precisely what the BJP-led NDA has in the present case.
