Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Rising militancy in J&K” (July 5). The recent spur in terror attacks and rising radicalisation in Jammu & Kashmir is a cause for concern. New Delhi must invoke national security mechanisms to subvert anti-national activities in the valley. Radicalisation can be curbed by roping in moderate Islamic clerics and local madarssas. Security of military convoys and Army installations must rise. Hardliners must not be given a free-hand. Cry for azaadi must change into cry for development, peace and growth.
