Sir — This refers to the news report, “Diggy taunts Modi on encounters in Gujarat” (July 3) by Kestur Vasuki.
From the massive popularity Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has received and continues to do so, especially after his appointment as BJP’s Election Campaign Committee chief, the Congress, in general and its leader Digvijaya Singh, in particular, have been suffering from an acute bout of ‘Modiphobia’.
Since the Congress is unable to thwart Mr Modi’s rise, its leaders have adopted new stratagems to malign the latter with innuendos and charges of ordering fake encounters. They wrongly hope the plan will work. The time is not far when the people of the country will show the Congress the door to oblivion.
