Sir — This refers to the report, “Durga’s batchmate attacked by mining mafia in Himachal” (August 9).
This dastardly attack on an honest IAS officer has happened in a Congress-ruled State. But the condemnation of a similar attack in the Samajwadi Party-ruled Uttar Pradesh by the Congress, exemplified by the letter that the Congress president addressed to the Prime Minister, is strangely and completely missing in the other case. This reinforces the strong perception that the Congress does not believe in the old adage: ‘What is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander’.
