Sir — This refers to the article, “Either family-run or proprietary concerns” (March 7) by Gautam Mukherjee. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is making false noises about ensuring democracy in the party and promoting deserving candidates.
If Mr Gandhi is really serious about the matter, he should set an example by giving up his post that seems to have been thrust upon him on account of his lineage. The ‘democratic’ Mr Gandhi should relinquish his party position and work his way up the ladder like an ordinary Congress worker. Otherwise, he should stop making unnecessary noises about ‘inner democracy,’ which the Congress has no history of.
