This refers to the article, “Incorrigible from start to end” (January 11) by JS Rajput. The author has rightly summarised the Congress’s ailment at this juncture. There is no doubt that the Congress contributed immensely towards independence and for the growth and development of the nation. But now, after suffering a massive defeat in the 2014 lok Sabha election, its members have become immature and begun living in fool's paradise, to say the least. Most of today’s leaders are existing only because of legends like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Mahatma Gandhi, BR Ambedkar etc, who laid the foundation for the grand old party.
By stalling Parliament, by opposing the BJP just for the sake of opposing, and portraying itself as the sole messiah of the common man, the Congress is doing great harm to the country and its people, as crucial Bills hang fire. The party must realise that the voters can no more be fooled. The party needs a strong leader. The sooner its members realise it, the better it will for them.
