Congress decimated

Published on:

Sir — The rout of the Congress in the Delhi election requires Congress president Sonia Gandhi to overhaul the party. It is clear that vice president and heir apparent Rahul Gandhi is not acceptable to the people. If Ms Priyanka Gandhi, in keeping with the dynastic traditions of the party, is projected as the next Congress leader, that may not work out well either — in view of the controversies surrounding her husband Robert Vadra.

Decimated national parties are a cause of concern for the nation. In the larger public interest, Ms Gandhi should hand over the management of the Congress to honest and capable leaders. Her son should also withdraw from party affairs.
