This refers to the article, “Not keeping this promise has its costs” (August 21) by Kalyani Shankar. It is confusing, whether the one-rank-one-pension should be given to all ranks of the Armed Forces or to a few ‘top ranks’ only. It will be a matter of time before everybody wants a piece of the pie. If it is a ‘good idea’, give it to all the babus. If it is a ‘bad idea’, then take it away from the apex cadre babus immediately and explain the math to all.
