Sir — This refers to the news report, “Shivraj as humble as Vajpayee: Advani” (June 2). It is painful to note that BJP mentor and patriarch lK Advani seems to have forgotten the basic parental code of conduct — not to publicly compare one’s children. With his indiscreet remarks, the veteran leader seems to have done a grave disservice to the party he has helped to build.
His remarks only confirm the perception of infighting within the BJP, when it should be projecting itself as a united force for the 2014 poll. This is not the first time the party’s veteran leader has made controversial comments. Despite attempts at damage-control the party image has already taken a hit. One hopes that senior BJP leaders will refrain from such remarks.
