Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Not refugees; citizens” (December 27). The Jammu & Kashmir Government’s decision to grant identity certificates to Hindu refugees who have been living in the State for more than 50 years after migrating from west Pakistan in apprehension of persecution, was long overdue. The Congress and the National Conference have raised objections to the issue of granting identity certificates to the refugees even though they very well realise the importance of the same.
