Sir — The Supreme Court’s directive on time-bound completion of trials involving MPs and MlAs is a welcome step that supplements its earlier order disqualifying convicted politicians from Parliament and legislative Assemblies.
Similar deadlines for appeals filed with higher courts by convicted MPs and MlAs are needed. Also, the apex court must take action against the Central Bureau of Investigation which often changes its stand on probes against the powerful.
