Sir — This refers to the report, ‘SC: Jana Gana Mana must before movies” (December 1). The Supreme Court’s order that the National Anthem must be played in cinema halls before the start of the film, is welcome as it will instill patriotism among our youth. Patriotism is a virtue which will help us be united, despite mutual differences. Cinema, which educates, engages, entertains and also impacts successive generations, has a social responsibility.
