Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Samajwad’s Big Boss” (January 18). Whether the ‘churning feud’ in the Samajwadi Party was genuine or staged by the father-son duo, to flush out the family burden, will remain a mystery. But the Samajwadi Party’s alliance prospect with the Congress has heightened the two parties’ excitement, given their pre-poll compulsions. The alliance now has the big mission of stopping the BJP’s entry in Uttar Pradesh. But the flipside is the anti-incumbency burden the Samajwadi Party regime faces, besides the prospects of a division in Muslim votes
