Sir — We need to be sceptical in our dealings with China. The friendship between China and Pakistan is dangerous for all of Asia; one is a rogue, failed terrorist state, while the other is a non-democratic communist state. India must be cautious in its response to current developments, and expedite the Iran port project to counter the larger gameplan of China in Pakistan. We must have military bases in China’s neighbouring countries like the Philippines and Vietnam. A strong message must be given to China that India is not a pushover state.
