China's problem

Sir — This refers to the editorial, “China and Masood Azhar”  (October 12). The editorial has rightly said that, when China is itself witnessing a terrorism uprising in its Muslim-dominated Province of Xinjiang, it should stand with India in the fight against terrorism. However, the Middle Kingdom has perhaps  become an all-weather friend of Pakistan after the latter’s approval to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, which will impact Balochistan and PoK. China is aware of the fact that if India supports Balochistan, it will be difficult for Beijing to complete the CPEC project. Its future economy with Pakistan will be in doldrums. Beijing must re-think its Pakistan policy.
