This refers to the editorial, “Chidambaram in a soup” (April 20). The editorial clearly exposes the chinks in the armour that P Chidambaram and the Congress have put on for so long, only to deliberately mislead the people. Apart from the specious and astonishingly false plea that he was unaware of the contents of the first affidavit, even when he had signed the document, Chidambaram also disingenuously admitted to some ‘’editorial’ changes and claimed that he only added ‘a comma here and a word there' in the process of editing the second affidavit.
If this is all it takes to convert a lashkar-e-Tayyeba-trained terrorist like Ishrat Jahan into an innocent girl, then Chidambaram's mastery of the usage of the English language is indeed commendable. So far, the media was taken in by his ‘gift of the gab' which, ominously for him, is being unravelled now.
