Cheap publicity

Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Mobocrats of the AAP” (March 7).

The ruckus the Aam Aadmi Party created in Delhi and lucknow is politics at its worst; the political barnstorming transforming into the ballyhoo tactic of the most retrograde form. AAP supporters went amok with the political acolytes and loyalists pelting stones at rivals. Events took a turn for the worse when the volunteers of both the AAP and the BJP fought with each other in Delhi. The AAP is adopting vulpine tactics in order to gain political brownie points.

The AAP’s political charade was well-orchestrated in order to gain publicity in the political standoff, forcing the media to project the party’s political hustling throughout the nation, focussing the spotlight upon it. The AAP has verified by its wrongdoing the fact that it lends more credence to street brawls than people’s welfare.
