Changing mood

Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Rude campus awakening” (September 15). The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party must accept the bitter reality that election results of Delhi University Students’ Union where it lost the two top posts retaining just the last two ranks of secretary and general secretary, are warning signal for the party of growing dissatisfaction amongst people. Even earlier, by-election in Bawana civic poll in Delhi reflected the same mood. The Union Government should change its style of working with honest confession about some of its decisions gone wrong and rejected by the masses. It must not be overlooked that the two seats won by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad were rather the lack of acceptable leadership in the Congress backed National Students’ Union of India than anything else.

likewise, students were confused about voting for the Congress because of lack of future leadership as the Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi is not accepted by the masses to be the next generation leader. Congress president Sonia Gandhi  should rise above dynasty politics in larger national interest and crown someone deserving to lead the party.
