Caught between a rock and a hard place

This refers to the article, “If it is not now, it could be never” (December 18) by Rajesh Singh. The writer has lucidly stated that though the Congress has offered to extend outside support to the Aam Aadmi Party, the former's record of giving such support to a minority regime is not worth being emulated or trusted. The Congress has a long record of causing the downfall of all Governments that it supported from the outside, and the AAP should be wary of this.

However, if the AAP, on the other hand, supports the imposition of President's Rule in Delhi and goes to the people for a fresh mandate along with the lok Sabha in early 2014, it is unlikely to be voted to power. Thus, Mr Arvind Kejriwal's party has to choose between Scylla and Charybdis. The Congress and the AAP will be the losers, in case there is a fresh election to the Delhi Assembly, while the Bharatiya Janata Party and its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will gain.
