Casteist leaders

The debate in Parliament on the ‘commitment to the Constitution’ made some disturbing revelations on the malevolent, casteist character of Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge. Participating in the discussion, Mr Kharge remarked, “Who said Aamir Khan wanted to leave the countryIJ He never wanted to leave the country. You have come from outside. You Aryans (meaning north Indians) have come from outside. We (meaning Dravidians from the South) are here for the last 5,000 years.”

While no senior Congress leader disapproved of Mr Kharge’s reprehensible outburst, BJP leaders condemned Mr Kharge for attempting to revive the “wrong” and discarded “Aryan-Dravidian” theory.

Is this the Congress’s way to affirm its commitment to the ConstitutionIJ With this poisonous, caste-ridden mindset, does Mr Kharge deserve to continue as a leader of the Congress in the lok SabhaIJ
