This refers to the report, “Classes resume at Hyderabad varsity” ( February 2). That nine Dalit students have committed suicide in Hyderabad University during the last five years, clearly indicates the hostile environment that a Dalit student faces in educational institutions in India. Survey reports have also shown that India is yet to recover from the chronic disease of caste prejudice. Clearly, it is time to do away with all forms of caste barriers.
