Can't run with the hares, hunt with the hounds

This refers to the report, “Push to the UPA's Guvs” (June 18). The debate over whether to replace Governors who were appointed by the previous Congress-led UPA regime has become unseemly. But the fact remains that all the Governors who are supposedly being ‘targeted' by the new Government come from one particular party with partisan interests. Most of them have had a history of partisan behaviour.

In fact, the 2010 Supreme Court order that is being touted by the Congress was a result of the UPA's vindictive behaviour against previous gubernatorial appointments. The Congress cannot run with the hares and hunt with the hounds. It is time that people of eminence and social standing replace the partisans, and in doing so, reverse the tilt towards nepotism and favouritism in the appointments of Governors.
