Sir — This refers to the report, “Prof rejoins college just before retirement” (March 29). It is painful to note that the Kerala church-run management has come out of its hibernation in re-instating the professor only after the latter’s world had been shattered, as his wife committed suicide.
When the court had absolved the professor of an alleged blasphemy last year, the management should have re-instated him right after. Perhaps his wife would not have died then. Even at the time of hacking of the professor’s hands by Muslim extremists, no secular leader had raised his voice over this barbarism. All such leaders were pandering to their minority vote-banks.
