Sir — This refers to the article, “The trauma of a bureaucrat” (August 4) by J Gopi Krishnan. The article very well illustrates the story of Pradip Baijal, a former bureaucrat who was caught in the web of the Central Bureau of Investigation. The truth is that clever and dishonest politicians, to save their skin, can manipulate various institutions so as to implicate an honest officer who is then left to suffer insults. However, a good bureaucrat is one who keeps the record of written notes diligently to save his skin when time comes without obstruction flow of fillers.
