Sir — With preparations for the Union Budget picking up pace, the Finance Ministry has sought suggestions. My opinion is that it is high time that a proposal to re-introduce tax-free bonds by the Reserve Bank of India is taken into account. These bonds were the most popular and a convenient way for the public to invest. The reason behind why these were discontinued is best known to the authorities.
