Sir— This refers to the editorial, “Revelling in brutal ways” (May 30). There is no doubt that we can debate over the Government’s latest decision of banning sale and purchase of cattle and cow slaughter as all stakeholders should have been brought on board — State Governments, people involved in slaughter businesses — by the Union Government.
But the way a Kerala Youth Congress functionary reacted by slaughtering a calf in public is condemnable. To make the matter worse, the left Front Government of Kerala has supported this barbaric act of the Kerala Congress worker. The Government should have acted more maturely.
