Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Come together” (July 6). It is a welcome step that the Supreme Court categorically said that lieutenant Governor (l-G) does not have independent power and is bound by advice of elected Government’s ministers.
He can not act as obstructionist. But at the same time, it is also clear that Delhi is not a State, but an Union Territory.
And moreover, it should also be noted that former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit, who ruled National Capital for 15 years, also worked under similar arrangement and provided governance to the people of Delhi.
So, Arvind Kejriwal now needs to focus on delivering his tall promises rather than indulging in some dharna. He needs to sit with other stakeholders and sort out all differences.
