Sir — Some commentators have been critical of Europe’s indifference towards the plight of illegal immigrants seeking to settle in Europe. These countries are not interested in unskilled labour. Also, the asylum seekers of today may turn hostile tomorrow and pose a security threat.
But the bleeding hearts are not satisfied and want the rich European countries to shelter the poor and the persecuted. Oddly, they do not hold Asian powerhouses like Malaysia and even Indonesia to these standards (with regard to Myanmar’s Rohingya Muslim refugees).
