Sir — Given that the noisy campaign of the Aam Aadmi Party had made a lot of impact on the voters, the BJP felt constrained to confront party chief Arvind Kejriwal with an equally assertive anti-corruption campaign. The BJP had to hunt for a person who could match Mr Kejriwal’s charisma and popularity. It is odd that the party, instead of looking within, went for a rank outsider like Ms Kiran Bedi.
The former IPS officer has had to live down her anti-BJP past and her embarrassing tweets that criticised Mr Narendra Modi. The BJP has also done the unthinkable by projecting a leader who has no RSS pedigree as its chief ministerial candidate for Delhi. Opinion polls indicate a BJP advantage, but in case, the gambit fails, will Ms Bedi be the fall guyIJ
