Sir — This refers to the article, “West’s ‘blame it on India’ Afghan plan” (July 19) by G Parthasarathy. Well-known British writer William Dalrymple’s statement that “in reality the hostility between India and Pakistan lies at the heart of the conflict in Afghanistan”, is far-fetched and nonsensical. It is the United State’s arrogant, fallacious foreign policy based on its military might that has led to the bizarre war in Afghanistan. It’s foolhardy for the US and its allies in the West to contemplate blaming India for their Afghan policy fiasco.
