BJP's weak spot

Published on:

Sir — The setback that the BJP has suffered in the urban local body election in Karnataka has made the party appear like a sinking ship in the State, with its MlAs deserting it to seek better political fortunes elsewhere in the forthcoming Assembly election.

As a token gesture to show that it does not tolerate indiscipline and loose talk, the party has expelled MP Renukacharya, who in any case was on the way out to join BS Yeddyurappa’s Karnataka Janata Paksha. After nurturing and sheltering for long, corrupt and unscrupulous leaders, the BJP has woken up in the sunset of its term to take drastic action.

The biggest beneficiary of the disarray in the BJP is the Congress.
