This refers to the editorial, “Nitish Kumar's wapsi” (July 28). lalu Prasad deserves compliments for accidentally confessing to his son following the family tradition of corruption when he said that ‘atrocities’ by Nitish Kumar were more serious than corruption. Then he asked Bihar Governor-in-charge Keshari Nath Tripathi to crown Tejashwi as the Chief Minister on the logic that the Deputy Chief Minister should be an automatic choice for the post vacated by any Chief Minister. lalu Prasad also proved himself to be a sort of blackmailer when he kept quiet on alleged murder charges against Nitish Kumar so far as the latter did not raise the issue of charges against Tejashwi Yadav. The moment the Chief Minister demanded an explanation, all hell broke loose. The Rashtriya Janata Dal was prompt in boycotting a certain news channel when it was asked questions on the raids conducted by the Central Bureau of Investigation, calling the channel ‘anti-national’. It is, indeed, a glorious example of father and son sticking for each other at a time of crisis!
The Union Government, instead of singularly probing charges against lalu and family, should launch a simultaneous strike against all such politicians who minted enormous money and assets through dubious means. It is a matter of probe how clerks- turned-politicians can have assets worth crores of rupees.
