Biased accusation

Sir — Those who criticise and condemn and even demand the resignation of Chief Minister of  Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath for the sudden deaths of 70 children infected with Japanese Encephalitis (JE) in Gorakhpur, should not contemptuously blame the Chief Minister, accusing him of complicity in deaths of these innocent children.

Is it the responsibility of the Chief Minister to stay in the hospital and watch the affected childrenIJ Adityanath has already taken stern action against those responsible for the grave tragedy. Deaths of children are not only confined in Uttar Pradesh. In Bihar, 42 children died of Acute Encephalitis Syndrome in 2014;  more than 300 children died of both JE and by consumption of Banchakunda, a type of herb, in Malkangiri district of Odisha.

It is also rude shock to mention here that 53 people have died of swine flu and 13

persons died from dengue in Kerala in June. How could the Kerala Marxist Government fail to contain the outbreak of such a magnitudeIJ
