Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Extraditing Vijay Mallya” (April 20). The Government scored a victory over many naysayers, when the london police arrested, on an extradition warrant, business tycoon Vijay Mallya, who has been declared a proclaimed offender in India over unpaid loans.
Mallya’s arrest must not be seen in isolation, but as part of a multi-pronged effort by the Government to tackle black money, bad loans, and nefarious corporate practices. However, the challenge before the Modi Government is larger than Mallya. It must go after all big loan defaulters and book them.
