Sir — This refers to the article, “Beyond symbolic cleanliness” (November 4) by Kushan Mitra. A photo-op sweep of the broom is not enough; much, more needs to be done. The waste, created by human beings, must be either destroyed in an eco-friendly manner or recycled. This needs a focussed approach. A major source of energy in India can be solar power. It would be a good idea to establish institutes of solar energy to promote the concept.
