Sir — Actor Kamal Haasan’s entry into politics is no surprise. Film stars entering politics in Tamil Nadu is not new and the State has seen five Chief Ministers from the cinema world. However, the need of the hour for Tamil Nadu is a righteous no-nonsense person. With fingers crossed, one just hopes that Kamal Hassan, in his new political avatar, must easily essay the character of a politician without being coerced to compromise his values and also direct people to perform their respective roles to the best of their abilities.
