This refers to the news report, “BJP demands sedition charge on Azam over Dadri statement” (October 7). Uttar Pradesh Minister Azam Khan's action of taking the Dadri issue to the United Nations was brazenly shameful. law and order issue rests with the State Government, and so the State regime is squarely responsible for the Dadri incident. Mr Khan should have first resigned and protested against how own Government, if he were sincere. Our legal institutional frame-work is robust and he could have moved the matter before it.
Mr Khan's action of approaching the UN reflects his anti-India sentiment. The Chief Minister must take appropriate action against him for the sake of honour and dignity of his Government. Moreover the Centre must seek an explanation from Mr Khan for his ill-advised act. May good sense force his conscience to seek an apology from the nation for his act of trying to ridicule India before the world community!
