This refers to the report, “lumpens pelt stones at AAP office in Ghaziabad” (January 9). The vandalism of the Aam Aadmi Party's office over party leader Prashant Bhushan's comments on Kashmir deserves to be condemned in the strongest terms.
A large number of the people are in disagreement with the views of Mr Bhushan. This dissent has been expressed in unambiguous terms. Even party chief Arvind Kejriwal has distanced himself and the AAP from the views of Mr Bhushan.
The view expressed by Mr Bhushan was his individual opinion, and there was no need, therefore, to attack the AAP's office. The dust must be allowed to settle. The party is using the attack to say that certain people are rattled by its growing popularity. This incident underlines the need to extend adequate protection to the Delhi Chief Minister and his Ministers. Anti-social elements and miscreants will always be on their toes to take undue advantage of the refusal of protection.
