Sir — This refers to the report, “BJP MP attacked for taking Dalits to temple” (May 21). The attack, fuelled by the belief that Dalits desecrated the sanctity of the temple, is a blatant violation of human rights. Such antiquated ideologies and superstitions have no place in our secular democracy. They are bound to be altered or quashed over time.
